Mamy Rasolofoniaina – Lumina Learning Global Business Delivery

What’s your career background and what is your original connection to Lumina?

For nearly 20 years, I have been working as an IT engineer, mainly based in Madagascar but working at different international and national organisations throughout my career. Whilst working in internal communications, my core competencies have been IT, project management and system administration.

Before I worked for Lumina Learning, I was working as an independent IT consultant. The last company I worked with was based in London, and had connections with Lumina. Now I am the onsite engineer for the Lumina Madagascar team.

What is your top Spark Aspect and how have you found this beneficial to your role?

My top Aspect is Outcome-Focused. When I work, I want to get a good result every time, so it’s good for me to have a logical and objective approach to reaching my goals.

What is your favourite thing so far about working at Lumina Learning?

My favourite thing so far is that I learn something new every day by learning by doing. Within my role, I read lots of documents and provide translated subtitles for videos, so I find my knowledge is continuously expanding. I am also improving as a person; I am learning how to communicate better and understand who I am.

Do you have any Paradoxes? How do you see these working in your role – If you don’t have any, what Paradoxes do you think might be useful for you to develop?

My Paradox is Outcome-Focused and People-Focused. For me, communicating with my team is essential before conceptualising an idea or attending a call. When it comes to my goals, good collaboration is always key, as this helps me to reach our overall end goal.

What’s a fun fact about you many people may not know?

I really enjoy cooking! My signature dish is one that is original to my country, but most of the time, I tend to cook a lot of fish which is a common ingredient in my country.
